By research purposes consist in acquiring a working knowledge of quantum mechanics and a skill-set for hardware development to realize a solid state architecture for quantum computing with a high potential of industrial scalability.

The principal areas of investigation include:

  • fundamental physics of quantum systems, like electron or hole silicon double quantum dots and single dopants, in CMOS ultrascaled nanodevices: spin-orbit effects, many-body phenomena, microwave-induced transport, spin-valley selection rules, quantum admittance, …
  • realization and characterization of spin qubits in CMOS industrial devices
  • implementation of radio frequency charge sensing techniques to qubit technology for efficient readout (RF reflectometry) and optimization of instrumentation between qubits and their control hardware (cryogenic classical electronics).
